Exciting Season for Sports in Raleigh

Watch Raleigh's favorite hockey team, the Carolina Hurricanes, play at home this month!

We hope you’re ready to cheer because with North Carolina’s fall sports season well underway, it’s time to support your teams! As a proud supporter of our region’s sports teams, at Elizabeth Allardice we thought we would spend some time talking about the exciting teams and sporting events we have coming up here in Raleigh. This time of year, it can be easy to get carried away with football fanatics, but one of the teams we will be watching closely this year is the Carolina Hurricanes!

During the next month, the Carolina Hurricanes will be playing 10 of their 15 games at the RBC Center in Raleigh. This will be a great opportunity to catch the Hurricanes at their own stomping grounds and hopefully score a few wins.

Eric Staal had this to say about the home stretch. “Any time you’re at home for a long stretch, you want to get the wins, you want to establish yourself and you want to make it a difficult building for teams to come in. It starts with coming out with energy, using our building, using our crowd. Wins are big, especially at home. So next month is huge for us.”

With fresh excitement from the crowd and hometown support, we can’t wait to see how well the Hurricanes will do! Hockey is just one of the many ways we can enjoy Raleigh’s diverse offerings. CAM Raleigh Takes Inspiration From the City

Have you been to or heard about Raleigh’s Contemporary Art Museum (CAM)? The museum opened its doors in April of this year and since then has been dazzling viewers with its contemporary art. Not only does the innovative museum feature cutting edge artists, but it also endeavors to take inspiration from the city and environment around it.

artThe CAM building, located in the heart of Raleigh’s warehouse district, represents the perfect urban setting for the museum’s contemporary designs. The building was renovated and revived especially for the museum and now boasts natural lighting in the spacious warehouse.

North Carolina State University’s College of Design has played an integral role in the museum’s pursuit of bringing in local artists to display their talents. Students and faculty both take part in exhibits and displaying their own collections. What’s exciting about this is that the collections you’ll find at CAM are a depiction of what is happening now in the world of contemporary art. We have the opportunity to witness these cutting edge artists before they take on the world of design.

Because there are no permanent collections, there is something new and unique to see each time you visit the museum. For the art enthusiast, this is a great opportunity to learn more about new artists as well as the talent we have here in Raleigh. To learn more about the opportunities and cultural experiences that abound in Raleigh, contact our team at Elizabeth Allardice by calling 919-624-3423.
